Access to STATcube database is provided in German and English.
Data has been collected in 1971, 1981, 1991, 2001, 2009, 2010, 2011.
Complete coverage (registry)
Population aged 6 and over
Data collected on the number of in-commuters, out-commuters, non-daily commuters, means of transport (until 2001), by type of commuter (job, education) etc. (data available on the level of municipalities)

This is a comprehensive survey based on the register that provides data down to the municipal level.
Current data from 2009 on uses a register based on Labour Market Statistics by Statistic Austria (no information on means of transport available). The data is preliminary and they are still in the process of developing evaluation standards.
