Coverage
Data was collected between 1995 and 2010. The sample size used was of approximately 1/3 of the total population. Since 2010 the sample comprises the total population (integral observation). Data collection is ongoing and is scheduled to continue at some point in the future.
1995
Opportunities for regional income analysis. Post-stratification: weighting by following variables: age, sex, marital status, type of address, municipality.
Municipal Person Registration
Dutch population on the 31rd of December.
No age restrictions
Detailed study of:
Regional distribution of income among individuals and households.

Linkage
Population, methods and concepts are, in principle, comparable through time. Since 2010, the sample used is an integral observation.
Linkable to other person databases through anonymised personal number.
Data quality
Until 2009: sampling errors (small, due to large sample size), administrative non-response.
Break in 2010 due to a methodological change (use of integral sample).
Some concepts of income and some other variables were changed in 2001.
Applicability
Strengths:
The data source provides high quality data for a large sample. From 2010 onwards, the registry used integral observation.
